Creative Copy Copywriter - Terms & Conditions (AKA 'The Small Print')
1. All first projects under £100 shall be paid for in advance. An invoice and / or will be issued by email. Payment can be made via BACS or cheque. PayPal payments are accepted, but are subject to a 5% charge to cover PayPal fees.
2. All first projects over £100 are subject to an advance deposit - normally one third or half of the quoted amount, as agreed with each individual client, payable as in (1) above. Interim invoices will be issued for larger projects, payable at each stage. The final balance payment is due immediately once the complete copywriting project has been completed.
3. Payment for regular projects, after the first project has been completed, may be payable in arrears, subject to the agreement of Creative Copy. All payments of this nature are payable immediately once the project has been completed and an invoice issued. Should the account not be settled immediately on issue of the invoice, Creative Copy reserves the right to demand payment in advance for future projects.
4. LATE PAYMENTS. Any balance or outstanding payments are due immediately on completion of the project and an invoice will be issued by email. Accounts that remain unpaid after 7 days from the date of the final invoice are subject to a 10% Late Payment Fee. A further 10% is added when payment becomes 14 days overdue. Payments that remain unpaid after 21 days may be subject to legal action to recover the debt. A formal letter will be issued at this stage.
5. COPYRIGHT& OWNERSHIP. All copywriting produced by Creative Copy is subject to Copyright. All written copy remains the Intellectual Property of Creative Copy until the project is paid for in full. No copywriting produced by Creative Copy may be used for any purpose whatsoever, print or electronic, until the account is settled in full. 6. PRICE. Creative Copy aims to quote for most projects in advance. Long or complex projects may be quoted on a price-per-hour basis with the agreement that the client will be kept informed of costs as the project progresses.The quoted price includes everything: briefing, copywriting and most revisions. Normally, the only extra charge is if the client supplies additional key informational AFTER the first draft has been written requiring a re-write or significant additions / changes. (AKA 'Moving the Goalposts'.)
7. INCOMPLETE OR POSTPONED PROJECTS. In the event that a project is left incomplete by the client or postponed by the client after a period of 28 days, Creative Copy reserves the right to issue a final invoice for work completed up to this stage which is payable under the immediate payment terms (see 2 & 3 above).
8. ALL COMMUNICATIONS WITH THE CLIENT. All communications shall be issued from Creative Copy by email and shall be deemed to have been received by the client within 24 hours of despatch.
Please note: individual requirements can be agreed on an individual basis e.g. regular work over a period of 12 months or more and / or retainers. However (3) above will still apply. (Please ask for details.)
